Not every vehicle sits on the main lot. Part of our stock is kept at holding lots close by, so telling us which one you want to see lets us have it ready before you arrive. Coming without notice is fine as well, it usually takes about ten minutes to bring one down.
A truck that has worked is not a truck to avoid. What matters is whether it worked within its limits and whether anyone maintained it while it did. Towing inside the rating with the right cooling is very different from years of dragging more than the badge allows, and the evidence for which one you are looking at is underneath, not in the photographs.
Frame condition is the single thing worth being fussy about, because it is the one repair that is genuinely expensive and genuinely hard to assess after the fact. It is also the reason we check for reported frame damage before we buy rather than after.
Bring a torch when you come. Look at the rails, the spring hangers and the bed supports yourself. Any lot that objects to you doing that has told you something useful.
